Oct 7th 2012, 08:58 HOW TO PREPARE FOR LOGICAL REASONING????????? This Section comprises of 40 marks in CLAT. Again you can't think of ignoring this subject. So today in this article I am going to discuss that how can u get at least 35 marks in this section for that no doubt you have to work hard but in the right direction. This section can be divided into two that is:- - LOGICAL REASONING
- CRITICAL REASONING
STEP-1 Let's discuss the books you require for logical reasoning and Critical reasoning 1. R.S Aggarwal ( for logical reasoning means you have to cover the first part of the book and please don't solve the critical reasoning portion from that book) 2. M.K Pandey (It's a real good book which gives you very good explanations for all the chapters and ample exercises to solve) So, two books for this part R.S Aggarwal + M.K Pandey STEP-2 Now you have the best books for logical reasoning but they are so fat but you have to cover just some important portions of the book. Which chapters you need to cover from which book is discussed below:- 1. R.S Aggarwal:- Series Completion, Analogy, Classification, Blood Relation, Puzzle test, Direction Sense Test, Logical Venn Diagrams, Alphabet Test, Number, Ranking, & Time Sequence Test, Mathematical Operations, Arithmetical Reasoning & Inserting The Missing Character. (The Topics marked in bold are very important) 2. M.K Pandey :- The Basic Of Logic, Assumptions, Forcefulness Of Arguments, Evaluating Inferences, Evaluating given courses of Action, Strengthening and Weakening Arguments, Cause and Effect & Syllogisms. ( sorry...!! can't help all these chapters are very important) STEP-3 How much time you need to devote to this subject??? At least 3-4 hours a week to complete it as early as possible. But once completed you can give just 2 hours a week so that you kep in touch with the subject. Try solving out tests on logical reasoning this will also increase your speed. STEP-5 How to revise this subject well each topic has some important points to remember mark them or write them and yes the questions that you solved wrong in first attempt mark them they can serve as a small test when you revise the topic. Now you not only need to have an idea that how you should solve the question but also you need to have great speed in solving these questions and that speed can be acquired only by practice so practice as much as you can. Remember this subject is very scoring if you give judicious time to this subject during your preparation.
