The very second thought that comes to once mind is that how one can prepare for CLAT. The only option most of the CLAT aspirants think of is joining a good coaching institute but how should a student choose a coaching institute what are the parameters on which a person should choose a coaching institute. So, in this article I am going to discuss this let's begin then… Faculty Infrastructure is not at all important even if they are teaching you by making you sit on the floor go ahead if they have good mentors because finding good mentors is really very difficult. You need to enquire about the faculty members. Ask about their qualification and their experience. If possible ask for a demo class before you enroll. Some of the institutes don't allow you to take demo class in that case try contacting those people who have taken coaching from that particular institute. Remember the faculty members of coaching institutes keep on changing. So, when you enquire from an old student of the institutes do check whether the faculty is same or it has changed. Remember that it's the mentors who are going to teach you and if they are the best half of your work is done. The bigger coaching institutes have various branches so find out that the branch which you are joining is good or not because the faculty may not be same everywhere. Study Material Check out the study material provided to you by the coaching institute and yes don't go on the quantity of the material provided to you by the institute instead check out the quality because it is the quality of the material which matters not the quantity. Check out if all the subjects are covered and also ask the old students that the material provided by the coaching institute helpful. This is very important because good study material plays a great role in CLAT preparation. Sometimes what happens is that one institute has good study material and the other has good faculty members so what you need to do is that buy the study material of one institute and get coaching in the institute where good faculty members are available. Weekly tests & Mock tests This is the most important thing that you need to check that is your coaching institute providing you with ample tests or not. If your institute is providing with weekly tests they are really very helpful because when you have to give tests your topics keep on getting prepared thoroughly. How many all India mock tests would they be conducting? How many aspirants have enrolled with them? You also need to check if the institute is providing you with ample live mock tests as I always say they are really important. Check that what type of environment they provide for the mock test. And yes how do they provide results and what type of advice they provide. Will the mentors help you in analyzing mocks or not. Size of the batch You should also check the size of the batch which you are joining. Is the mentor able to give you personal attention? Remember you should ask each and every problem that you are facing in your CLAT preparation never hesitate in asking problems. The size of the batch should not be too big because if it is the mentor may not be able to give personal attention to each and every individual. Environment of the class When you join a coaching institute check what type of people are there in your class are they studious and are they competitive. If they are it is very useful because you will work more hard to score well in the class. Library You also need to check that if your institute provides you with a library or not. If yes check out the books which are available. An institute with Library helps you a lot. Check your caliber Sometimes what happens is that you enquire about an institute from a person who is too intelligent and to him it doesn't matter at all that are the mentors good or not. But too you it does not because you are dumb may be because your basics are not that clear or may be before preparation of CLAT you never gave a damn to current affairs that person did. So do check this also. Don't run behind big names Don't just join a institute simply because it is famous. First check all the parameters and then decide the institute.
