Sep 29th 2012, 09:22 WHICH BOOKS FOR CLAT????? There is no book in India which covers the whole syllabus for CLAT completely. You have to take up different books from different authors to cover the syllabus for CLAT. So today i am going to discuss some books 1. GENERAL KNOWLEDGE a.) Current Affairs- pratiyogita darpan + the Hindu + checking online websites b) Static G.K- Pearson's concise general knowledge + manorama year book 2. MATHS S.CHAND's 18 days wonder for math's (for those who want to clear the basics of math's) + R.S AGGARWAL (Quantitative Aptitude) 3. LOGICAL REASONING Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning by R.S Aggarwal ( solve only the verbal reasoning part from this book) and for CRITICAL REASONING i.e. for arguments, assumptions etc go for a book called M.K PANDEY( it is a good book which has well explained chapter with many exercises to practice) Means two books for logical reasoning R.S AGGARWAL + M.K PANDEY 4. ENGLISH Wren and Martin (just for the grammar portion) + a good book which covers topics like Idioms, Cloze test, Sentence Completion, Para Jumbles etc (take up a book which has good explanations of their topics and also which give you good exercises to practice you can also go for Pearson's English or arihant or Tata McGraw-Hill. you need to compare and then buy whichever is good according to your own requirement. 5. LEGAL APTITUDE The most important subject and surely the tie breaker subject in mostly all law exams. The topics that you need to cover are Legal terminology, Constitution, Criminal law, Torts, Contracts and Family Law. For this go for the booklets of career launcher or the booklets by sriram law house. The booklets for legal aptitude by sriram law academy are too good and if you read them thouroughly you are done with this subject. The other books are by universal which is also a good book for legal aptitude and Pearson's (A.P Bharadwaj). If you want lots of questions for practice go for A.P Bharadwaj. If you want to do each of the topics in detail you should go for the following books 6.MOCK TESTS- Books cant take place of the last ten year paper's of the NLU's so my advice is study these papers properly attempt them atleast once and yes mark your mistakes and revise them you Never know that the same question is there in your CLAT exam. I HOPE THIS ARTICLE HELPED YOU PLEASE LEAVE YOUR QUERIES REGARDING THE SAME. | | | | |
