Sep 26th 2012, 10:58 Today we have our Classmate notebooks. And Blackberries. And the latest version of sticky notes. These are useful memory aids, but only when you have access to them! Which you won't during CLAT. Or any of the other competitive exams. And hence, you must look for alternatives i.e. memorization techniques. This is especially helpful since what you could study for CLAT is for all practical purposes - endless. You could form acronyms by using the first letter of each word and then remember the set. e.g. LASER is obviously easier to remember than its full form.. which even I will have to google :P The Method of Loci is one that had stood the test of times: Determine your path vividly, imagine yourself walking along it, and identify specific landmarks that you will pass. This method is ideal for visual learners. For remembering numbers, or anything converted to them, register a number with eight digits - take or give two. This is because the average human mind is trained to recollect these many. Take telephone numbers for example. You have five senses. Maybe even a sixth. So use all of them. See the answer. Hear it. Smell it. Touch it. Feel it. And most importantly, remember it. Different things work for different people. Try these. Look for more and try them as well. Then decide on which ones suit you the best. And of course, these techniques are not restricted to CLAT alone.. You could try using them in everyday life :) | | | | |
